Student Support

Supporting Every Learner

Every student learns in their own way and at their own pace. At MYIS, we provide a caring and inclusive environment where students feel supported, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential—academically, socially, and emotionally.

Counseling

Our counseling services address both social-emotional well-being and future pathways. In Elementary, teachers and counselors work together to guide students in developing self-awareness, resilience, and positive relationships. In Secondary, our counselor also supports students with academic planning, career exploration, and university applications. While school counseling is not therapy, we partner with parents and, when needed, connect families with external professionals for additional support.

Learning Support

When students require additional learning support, our team works in collaboration with teachers, parents, and specialists to provide strategies and interventions that best meet the child’s needs. Support is tailored to the individual, with the goal of building skills, confidence, and independence within the classroom and beyond.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

We value all languages that students bring to their learning. As English is the language of instruction at MYIS, we provide support to help students develop confidence and fluency—even as they develop home language(s), host country language(s), and/or language(s) of acquisition according to their goals and needs. EAL support may be offered in small-group sessions or within the classroom, and our EAL and classroom teachers work closely together to ensure students can access the curriculum while building essential language skills.
