A Pathway for Everyone

At MYIS, every student is supported throughout their high school experience to select the pathway that best fits their needs for their future goals and aspirations.

From Grade 6 through Grade 12, our College Counselor partners with students and families to guide the university planning process. Beginning with self-discovery and career exploration, students gradually build their academic and extracurricular profiles, research best-fit universities, and receive personalized support through applications and the transition to post-secondary education.

Pathways

MYIS Diploma

The MYIS Diploma is earned through MYIS core courses and electives, without the requirement of externally assessed AP exams.

Who it’s for:
Students seeking a robust, balanced academic program with flexibility and personalized course selection.

Advanced Placement (AP)

AP courses are developed by the College Board and culminate in standardized exams. Strong scores may earn university credit or advanced standing.

Who it’s for:
Students who enjoy academic challenge and want to pursue university-level coursework while still in high school.

At MYIS:

AP courses available in Grades 11–12
Students may take up to 2 AP courses per year
Courses taught by experienced teachers with strong student support

Excellence (Career-focused)

The MYIS Excellence Pathway is a unique graduation option that combines academic study with real-world learning experiences, including internships, project-based learning, and professional skill development.

Who it’s for:
Motivated students who want hands-on experience, career exploration, and deeper engagement beyond traditional coursework.

Key components:

Two subject-specific AP courses
A 40-hour internship
A course in professionalism and project development
A final capstone project
